DENVER, Colorado - July 15, 2008 -- A new technology company is launching today in hopes of becoming a
leading software innovator. Double Encore, Inc. brings together experienced entrepreneurs and a carefully crafted
team of technologists to work on the next-generation of software-based products and services.
Double Encore, Inc. will initially focus on Apple's iPhone. The company is offering an
aggressive service engagement to fully-develop iPhone (or iPod touch) applications from start to
market in a rapid timeframe.
"Our customers recognize that time is critical and we have built a development model that ensures we can
rapidly bring top-notch code to market. Besides just the development model we believe our strong startup
culture is at the core of our ability to aggressively innovate on behalf of our customers," said Dan Burcaw,
Founder and CEO of Double Encore, Inc.
Burcaw is most well known for co-founding Terra Soft Solutions, Inc. (acquired by Fixstars) the company famous for developing
Yellow Dog Linux. During his tenure as Chief Technology Officer at Terra Soft, Burcaw led the engineering team
responsible for delivering solutions to customers such as Boeing and the US Navy. Following his tenure at Terra
Soft, Burcaw spent four years at Apple, Inc. where he was a manager in the retail group. Most recently, he was
responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of more than a dozen Apple Stores located in a five-state region.
"If my experience at Terra Soft and Apple has taught me anything it's that the heart is like rocket fuel for the
mind. That's the premise from which we're building the company and we think our customers will be thrilled with
our work," Burcaw concluded.
Double Encore, Inc. recently closed initial deals with more forthcoming.
